You won’t believe which ‘Sabrina’ actor nearly played Jughead in ‘Riverdale’

This would have been so, SO strange

Now that Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is out on Netflix, we’re starting to learn more and more about the cast that everyone’s fallen in love with.

For example, Kiernan Shipka (Sabrina) actually auditioned to be Betty Cooper in their sister-show from Archie comics, Riverdale.

But she’s not the only CAOS actor that wanted to be in Riverdale either! Chance Perdomo, who plays Sabrina’s cousin Ambrose in the show, was originally up for the role as Jughead Jones!

Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa told the Hollywood Reporter that he was “so taken by the actor’s audition tape for Riverdale that he wrote the role of Ambrose with Perdomo in mind.”

Chance, of course, loves his role as Ambrose too.

“I love his duality. He is a very old soul in a very young man’s body. So that’s very fun to play, and interesting from an actor’s standpoint, to feel where has he been, what has he done in his life, and what’s carried his troubles forward,” he told TV Insider.

He continued, “You have his deep warmth and love, especially for his family. He has a very kind and open heart, he has a very, very kind soul. But at the same time, he can be quite malicious, and he’s also quite tortured as a result.

“I say malicious, but not in the sense of evil; he’s malicious in the sense that certain tortured bits about his past have led him to be the man he is today. To try and get a balance between the two is the most challenging, but equally as fun to do.”

Well, it seems like everything worked out for the best because Riverdale without Cole  and CAOS without Chance just wouldn’t be right.
