Dylan, 29, is a producer for the second season of Netflix show Down to Earth with Zac Efron that, unsurprisingly, stars his big brother. But before he spends a couple of months producing that, Dylan first has to undergo the mandatory 14-days in hotel quarantine.
“This is about my nightmare not getting sunlight and not being outdoors for two weeks but let’s make the most of it,” he said in an Instagram Story over the weekend when he first arrived.
However, he expressed that he was “pretty stoked” with his above-average hotel room that looks out over Sydney’s stunning Darling Harbour.
The 29-year-old has kept his fans updated with his quarantine journey on Instagram though admitted day one was “pretty uneventful.”
“I got a great workout in which was my goal coming in. I wanted to leave here stronger physically and mentally than when I came in so I’m happy I stuck to that even though it sucked,” Dylan remarked.
“The weirdest thing is they keep sending me milk, I don’t really know what to do with all this milk,” he laughed adding that he “hardly wore clothes” on his first day.
Not everyone is happy to see Dylan in Australia though as some Aussies are still stranded overseas.
“Can someone please explain why Dylan Efron is able to travel to Australia while 40K stranded Aussies are still locked out of their own country due to arrival caps and quarantine limitations? What a joke,” one person tweeted.
“How essential was his entry?: #zacefron brother arrives in Australia as thousands remain stranded,” remarked another.
“Explain how I can’t get an exemption for legitimate reasons after 11 months away from my GF, but you get one because ‘you’re a celebrity’,” mused a third.
Meanwhile Zac, 33, has been embracing his outback side whilst filming Stan’s Gold in South Australia.
The actor, who has been spending time in Sydney’s east and Byron Bay, the latter location of which where he met girlfriend Vanessa Valladares, shared a photo of himself earlier this month standing outside his luxury caravan and wearing a very Aussie Akubra hat.
“Nothing better than vanlife around Australia! Hopefully see you out there somewhere! #lifeisbetteroutside,” one person penned on Twitter.
“Australia looks good on you,” wrote another on Instagram.
“He’s a true Aussie bloke now!! What a legend,” exclaimed a third.
