1. Use a heat protectant

From curling wands to powerful flat irons, our manes take a beating, and according to Brennan, the biggest mistake people make when trying to keep their hair healthy is not using a heat protectant.

“The best way to protect the hair is to use a product designed to protect hair from heat damage,” Brennan explains.
“It is so important to use a product designed to protect the hair from intense heat from styling tools.”

2. Air dry your hair

Brennan tells WHO that another way to avoid excessive heat damage to the hair is to let your hair dry as much as possible naturally.

Our advice? Consider using a hair wrap to remove excess moisture before letting your hair air-dry.

3. Use a treatment weekly

“After shampoo and conditioning, I recommend using a HASK 5-in-1 Leave-In Spray designed for your hair type,” Brennan says.

“HASK has a fantastic new Repair Series also designed to repair the hair and keep it in top condition.”
In need of another option? A deep conditioning treatment once or twice a week will help restore hair moisture and add extra protection and shine.

4. Put an end to split ends

The best practice of preventing pesky split ends will always be regular trips to the hair salon for a trim.

However, according to Brennan, it’s also essential to “use a shampoo range suited to your hair type.”

Additionally, you can also put an end to split ends by” applying a deep conditioning treatment once or twice a week, and always use heat protection products before styling with any hot tools,” Brennan adds.
