The luxury hotel that kind of looks like Jurassic Park

And the celebs love it

It’s luxurious, sophisticated, stylish and it happens to be located in paradise, what more could you ask for? How about relaxed, first-name service and world class contemporary cuisine? All this and more can be found at the intimate Capella Lodge on Lord Howe Island located 780km north-east of Sydney on this incredible volcanic isle in the Pacific Ocean.

Nine modern and stylish suites look out over the pristine environment affording views of Mounts Gower and Lidgbird and Lovers Bay.

Capella Lodge has just undergone a luxe redevelopment, one of the highlights being the remodelled Capella Spa which reaches new heights with a loft level offering mesmerising views to the soaring mountains and the tranquil reef beyond. The lodge’s breezy, spacious beach house-styled restaurant is also renowned its fresh produce, and for something different you can take a bespoke picnic lunch on a hike, or prepare a barbecue while you relax over a glass from the excellent wine list.

Even though it’s only about 10kms long and just under 3kms wide there’s a lot to see and do on Lord Howe Island. Given the marine park status (the world’s southern-most coral reef is here), a plunge beneath the waves for some snorkelling or scuba diving is pretty much mandatory. Heaven!
