Moxy Chelsea
Inspired by the surrounding Flower District, this blooming lovely newcomer opened its doors on Valentine’s Day and has already stolen the hearts of many a discerning traveller.
Paying homage to the neighbourhood’s retro-industrial style with a strong botanical influence, the 35-storey, 249-room micro-room, macro-amenity hotel, located in the heart of the Chelsea Flower Market, was developed by Lightstone and is part of the Marriott International’s Moxy Hotels brand.
On arrival, guests are immediately transported into a tranquil urban oasis as they enter the hotel through the overgrown Putnam & Putnam Flower Shop, with planter boxes suspended from the 4.5-metre wall.
Beyond the store, a bright yellow neon sign spells out the words MEET and GREET, Moxy’s playful twist on a traditional hotel reception.
Guest rooms – the three configurations include King, Double/Double and Quad Bunk – are drenched in sunlight with floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall windows, with more cheeky signs and other artisan touches.
