ROCK star suites, guitar-clad music rooms and expansive terraces with hot tubs and custom-designed Champagne tables are some of the offerings from Virgin’s new cruise line, Virgin Voyages.
Having disrupted the airline and music industries, Sir Richard Branson’s new lifestyle brand is set to bring ‘rebellious luxe’ to the high seas when Virgin’s first vessel, the Scarlet Lady, makes her maiden voyage from Miami to the Caribbean in 2020.
A fusion of cutting edge design and modern luxury with a playful, rock and roll twist, the adults-only cruise liner will boast 78 plush RockStar suites designed by revered British designer Tom Dixon.
“Virgin has always avoided stuffy formalities and brought a lot of excitement and a bit of rebelliousness to our customer experiences, “ said Virgin founder Branson. “With these glamorous suites, Virgin Voyages is bringing rock and roll to the high seas and spoiling our sailors like the rock stars they are.”
Inspired by mega yachts and rock and roll style icons like Grace Jones, the RockStar Suites have a retro-futuristic theme with a palette of deep blues and iridescent dichroic elements.
The top suite, The Massive Suite, will have its own guitar-clad music room, ocean views from every corner and an expansive terrace complete with its own Peek-a-View outdoor shower, hot tub, sustainably sourced hammocks and a runway outdoor dining table where a staircase will help revellers make their way on the top of the table for dancing.
“Whether they want to sleep all day, praise the sun with yoga at dusk or party all night, our Rock Star Suite sailors can live out their fantasies aboard the Scarlet Lady,” said Virgin Voyages CEO, Tom McAlpin.
RockStar guests, 18 years and older, can expect the full celebrity treatment including private driver airport transfers, helicopter arrangements, and personal rock and roll rider sheets. A wardbrobe team will be also onhand to pack and repack and guests can also take advantge of a nightly express suitsuit drying service. As you do.
