From misplacing your passport to boarding the plane on time, travelling is stressful. Add young kids into the mix, and things become even more tricky!
However, thanks to the latest technological advancements, vacationing will soon be a breeze!
Booking.com— the largest e-commerce company in the world— recently conducted a study, taking answers from 21,500 travellers across 29 countries in the hope of uncovering the biggest travel trends for 2019.
The company’s research suggests that technological innovations such as artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR) and speech recognition will help with real-time luggage tracking that will soon be available on mobile apps. Having the option to track where your bags are while in transit will no doubt put travellers who worry about their luggage being stolen at ease.
With tech whizzes also working on mobile keyless room-access and robotic concierges who can communicate with guests in their mother tongue, an easy-to-use mobile app that assists with planning vacations, booking flights and finding the cheapest accommodation is set to be launched in 2019. 57 per cent of people who participated in the study agreed that this innovation will make planning a more enjoyable.
The study also suggested that almost a third of global travellers like the idea of a ‘virtual travel agent’ that will use voice-activated assistants to help answer any travel queries. Additionally, one in five participants also hoped that by the end of 2019 an augmented reality will be available to help travellers familiarise themselves with a destination before they arrive.
The future certainly looks bright!
