The Chef appeared on Channel Ten's MasterChef and revealed he knows that he has not been able to attend every important milestone in his children's lives due to his hectic work schedule.
While speaking to contestant Chloe Carroll who broke down on Monday night's episode because she missed her son's first day of school, Ramsay opened up about his own battles.
The Hells Kitchen star told her he had also made sacrifices in the past in order to gain success in a tough industry, and he even revealed it 'killed him' to do so.
"Chloe, everybody needs to sacrifice to get to the top. That's life. This competition's a phenomenon," he told an emotional Chloe.
Ramsay then went on to say that despite the struggles, the rewards are well worth it for his family unit.
"But you get to a certain level of success in life, and there's a price to pay for that. So park that and continue on that journey," Gordon said.
Ramsay shares four children with wife Tana. Their eldest is daughter is Megan, 20, who was followed by 18-year-old twins Jack and Holly, and the youngest of the clan, a daughter named Matilda, 16.
