Fellow Bachie stars took turns to congratulate the 31-year-old, with Matty J commenting: “Amazing news - congrats mate!”
Carlin Stewett from Angie’s Bachelorette season also said: “So good Matt, congrats mate”.
Fans were also excited about the announcement, with all positive reactions sent his way.
"Congratulations! Another book to add to my reading list," one wrote.
"Congrats for this amazing milestone! This will be a fantastic opportunity for you..." added another user.
The news comes as Matt recently revealed his entirely new look, swapping out his geeky glasses for long hair and a buff bod.
"Let it grow, let it growwwwww [inner Elsa intensifies]," he shared on Instagram, sporting of course a NASA t-shirt (can’t stray too far from his love for space) and impressive muscles.
Since his time on The Bachelor, Matt has kept a low profile and mainly uses his social media platforms to share space related content and adorable pictures of his dog, Pluto.
His decision to lay low was "very intentional" according to an interview with the Herald Sun, after he found himself not in “great shape” after leaving the Bachelor mansion.
“It was an element of normality I was seeking, but the big thing for me was I was just putting myself back together," on his decision to cut down on his social media presence.
“I did not come out of both the show and the relationship in great shape and I needed time with my close friends and family to pick myself up and put myself back together, really.”
Things are definitely looking up for him now, with his new book to be published in 2022.
