Meadow Walker is continuing her late father’s legacy.
Meadow, 17, presented actor Adrian Grenier with the 2016 Paul Walker Ocean Leadership Award at the Monterey Bay Aquarium on Saturday, which was also World Ocean Day. Grenier was honored for his work with The Lonely Whale an organization “dedicated to bringing people closer to the world’s oceans through education and awareness, inspiring empathy and action for ocean health and the well being of marine wildlife,” according to their website.
Grenier, 39, shared a photo with Meadow and Monterey Bay Aquarium’s executive director Julie Packard on Twitter, writing, “Honored to share my voice today. Thank you @paulwalkerfdn for recognizing my work with @lonelywhale. #DoGood.”
The Paul Walker Foundation is devoted to helping students and researchers pursuing marine science education or working towards developments in the field, which ties closely to The Lonely Whale’s goals.
“It’s an honor to receive the Paul Walker Ocean Leadership Award,” Grenier said, according to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. “I share Paul’s inquisitiveness for the mystery of the ocean and the great potential it holds for new discoveries that will enrich the lives and inspire the curiosities of the next several generations. I also share Paul’s passion for ocean health and recognize that we have an opportunity to create real and lasting change that will benefit our marine environment and ultimately ourselves.”
