In our humble opinion, watching the blossoming relationship of Tara Pavlovic and Sam Cochrane has been the best part of Bachelor In Paradise. The unlikely pair has captured viewer’s hearts with their banter and cute exchanges. And, we can confirm that Tara is just as smitten off-screen as she is on-screen…
WHO: Let’s go way back to the beginning – Keira had just saved Sam in the rose ceremony, while you were getting close to Michael. At that early stage, what was your impression of Sam?
I just… from what I saw on telly, judged him from that so yeah, not too impressed but it was just a bad edit because he’s lovely.
WHO: When you and Sam first started to become close, your pairing surprised viewers. But, you’ve quickly become the cutest couple in Paradise. Were you surprised at how quickly the relationship developed?
I was very surprised. I just didn’t expect to a romantic connection with Sam and then it just started happening and then I just fell in love with him so yeah it surprised me as much as it surprised the viewers.
WHO: Was there a particular point when you realised that the humour and chats were leading to something more?
Probably… like I hung out with him that first day when Michael was on a date [with Keira] and I was like ‘He’s awesome, he’s just so awesome’ and then the next day it kind of happened again and I was like ‘Wait a minute, this could be something really good.’
WHO: How has it been watching your relationship play out on-screen?
It’s been really nice to relive everything. Everything’s such a blur, you’re just there and you leave so to see your love story pan out on TV is quite beautiful.
WHO: What do you enjoy about Sam? What attracted you to him?
His kind heart, his sense of humour, I think he’s really hot and just how much he cares, he just cares so much. He has such a beautiful soul.
WHO: What was your favourite thing to do in Paradise together?
Well we spent a lot of time just together like lying in the sun together, listening to his music. We’d just like listen to music all day and just chill. All the other couples did like exercises and stuff together but we just kind of watched them and didn’t move a muscle.
WHO: What makes you two so compatible?
We’re both caring people with lovely natures and he’s a little bit of a dreamer whereas I’m a little bit more cynical so we really balance each other out in terms of that and just both larrikins I guess.
WHO: Other couples like Luke and Lisa decided to leave Paradise early to test their relationship in the real world. Was that something you ever considered doing?
I was enjoying my time in Paradise with Sam so much so I just thought why… why would I leave? I was sure that I wasn’t going to fall for anyone else but still, I just thought why not just have our love story documented and let everyone else follow it as well, if we left early then no one would see what was going on and I think it’s something the audience would really like.
WHO: Romance aside, did you make any new friends in Paradise?
Yeah, I did. Keira, I became really close with… Lisa, Luke, Jarrod, yeah like pretty much I was friends with everyone, I only kind of knew the people from my season so everyone that wasn’t on my season… yeah, it’s been nice. Davey. Davey’s like a bestie of mine.
WHO: How was your overall experience in Paradise?
I loved Paradise. I had a really good experience, you know, obviously there are tears sometimes but I think that happens in everyday life as well so that’s not too much of a shock. I feel really lucky that I got to go overseas and have a holiday and meet people in the way that I got to meet people, it’s a pretty rare experience… [And an] open bar from 12 every day.
