Britney will be honoured with a prestigegous Vanguard Award, one more time!
According to reports by Entertainment Weekly, the Womanizer singer will get a Vanguard Award from GLAAD – this comes after already receiving the same honour from the MTV VMAs in the past.
The 36-year-old is set to attend the 29th annual GLAAD Media Awards in April and will be given the GLAAD Vanguard Award, an honour which is presented to media professionals who have made an important difference in promoting equality and acceptance of LGBTQ people.
“An irrefutable icon, Britney Spears has entertained the world while also embodying the spirit of GLAAD’s Vanguard Award by speaking out on significant issues that face her fans – from the Dream Act to anti-transgender bills in Texas,” revealed Sarah Kate Ellis, president and CEO of GLAAD. “She is a force in the music world who has used her global platform to share messages of love and acceptance, something that the world needs today more than ever.”
Meanwhile, the blonde bombshell has taken to Instagram to address the exciting news. “Honoured to be receiving the Vanguard Award at the @GLAADMedia Awards this year! The LGBTQ community means the absolute world to me and inspires me every day. I am proud to be an ally and I will continue to support equality and acceptance for all!! 💜💜💜 #glaadawards,” she wrote on Instagram.
Congratulations, Britney!
