Sunrise star David Koch, better known as “Kochie” to loyal viewers has been on the show for 15 years, but he has just confessed he was almost fired from his breakfast TV gig.
Speaking to New Idea, he said: “I was only supposed to fill in for three months, and it’s been 15 years.”
“After a year, the then managing director of Seven approached the board to get me fired because they thought I was too opinionated. Thankfully, I’m still here!” he told the publication.
And that’s a relief for fans who have watched him week in and week out, originally alongside Melissa Doyle and now co-star Samantha Armytage.
On the show, the finance guru has covered everything from serious news topics to sporting events and emotional pieces that pulled at the heartstrings of his viewers.
