When it comes to Die Hard, you’re in one of two camps: either you think it deserves to be included on the list of Christmas classics or you’ve never heard such a ridiculous idea. A newly edited trailer for the 1988 box office smash splices together all the bits of the film referencing the holiday season, while a jolly soundtrack and cheesy voiceover sell it as “the greatest Christmas story ever told.”

The movie’s bloodshed and violence are downplayed, and the banter and gags are emphasised (with the swearing glossed over). Even Alan Rickman’s Hans Gruber comes across as harmless enough. Die Hard: give it another look this Christmas.
