The American talk show host has said she is “excited” to speak to the former Suits actress, following speculation as to who exactly Meghan will give her first interview to.
While many pegged Meghan’s good friend Gayle King as a potential interviewer, others speculated that Oprah Winfrey may come out of retirement to interview the couple.
However, on Friday, DeGeneres appeared to confirm that she would be the one to speak to the royal couple
When asked on camera f she was keen to do a tell-all interview with Meghan, DeGeneres responding: “Sure, I’m excited.”
She was out walking in a Los Angeles neighbourhood at the time and was on a lengthy phone call, so it’s unclear how serious her response was.
But behind the scenes, plans are reportedly already in place to set up the tell-all royal interview.
“Ellen and Meghan have already discussed a sit-down interview. That has been in the works for quite some time now,” a source at the Ellen Show confirmed to the Daily Mail.
The Talk Show Queen has previously defended the couple, saying shortly after Archie’s birth: “They are two of the most down-to-earth compassionate people, they’re doing so much good for the world.”
