Emma Watkins in recovery after endometriosis surgery

Yellow Wiggle Emma Watkins has taken to Instagram to share an important health update with her fans after she was admitted to hospital for endometriosis surgery.

“Thank you for all the well wishes 💕 Operation went well and now in recovery 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸,” she confirmed alongside a snap with flowers in hand.

As previously reported by WHO, the popular child entertainer revealed she pulled out of future Wiggles shows due to a surgery she underwent on Tuesday 17th of April for treating her endometriosis.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, the 28-year-old revealed: “I have been in a lot of pain for the past couple of years.”

Watkins told the publication that it had been “difficult decision” to get the surgery in order to manage the pain of the chronic condition.

Watkins was hospitalised on the same day she was set to perform with the Wiggles for their Gold Coast show. 

She also confirmed she’ll be replaced by an understudy at shows in South Australia from April 21 to 30 and in NSW from May 12 to 20.

After the news broke, the actress and singer took to Instagram to thank her fans and their parents for their supportive messages.

You may have seen this morning that I have been diagnosed with Endometriosis. 💛💛 Thank you to all your support and sending love to all women suffering with Endometriosis 💕,” she wrote alongside a candid snap of herself smelling some flowers.
