Earlier this month, Erin Molan and husband fiancé Sean Ogilvy welcomed their first child together – baby girl Eliza Emily but they’ve just opened up about the emotional meaning behind her name.
The NRL Footy Show host who met her beautiful little bub on June 6, revealed she and partner Sean chose to incorporate the name of the baby her sister miscarried a few years ago.
“Mum named her Eliza at the start when we fell pregnant and my big sister lost a little girl a few years ago and her name was Emily, so we wanted to honour her,” she told The Sunday Telegraph.
“My mum loves the name Eliza and actually wanted to name me and my two sisters Eliza, but dad didn’t want a bar of it,” she said about the newborn’s proud grandmother.
“We wanted her name to be special and it’s significant for us.”
Molan who has since shared the first pictures of her daughter on social media has revealed she’s absolutely besotted with her little girl.
“I watch every breath she takes at night,” she told the publication.
“There are moments I should be trying to sleep, but I can’t help but listen to her breathe. It is intense but incredible
“No one tells you how tired you will be. It is bizarre. We are absolutely exhausted but my God it is worth absolutely every second.
“She is beautiful, she is divine. If not getting sleep is your only issue, then how lucky are you as a parent. We are so blessed.”
Erin and Sean, a policeman have been engaged since early 2017, but postponed their wedding plans when they discovered Erin was expecting.
