News of a terrifying break in at Buckingham Palace while the Queen slept inside has made headlines.
At 2am UK time in the early hours of Wednesday morning, an intruder is reported to have scaled a fence at the Monarch’s London home.
According to Hello! The person proceeded to bang on several doors before police were able to arrest the unnamed man, thankfully stopping him from getting any closer to the 93-year-old Queen.
The Metropolitan Police released a statement saying a 22-year-old man had been arrested by officers from the Met’s Royalty and Specialist Protection Command.
“The man was not found in possession of any offensive weapons and the incident is not being treated as terrorist-related. He remains in custody at a central London police station.”
Alarmingly, this isn’t the first time the Queen has faced a security alert at Buckingham Palace.

In 1982 a 33-year-old decorator called Michael Fagan broke into her bedroom. Although no harm was done to the Queen, Fagan was able to steal some cheese and crackers!
