Although fans may want to see it happen, it is not likely Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt will rekindle their romance.
Following the news of Aniston’s split from Justin Theroux, fans have starting hoping for the former Friends star to start dating her former husband.
However, a source tells PEOPLE the former couple are unlikely to reconcile.
“They haven’t seen each other in ages,” says a source with knowledge of their current relationship told the publication.
“For well over a decade now they have lived totally separate lives and so not surprisingly, they have become totally different people than who they once were when they were together.”
Aniston, 49, and Pitt, 54, who divorced in 2005 after five years of married, broke up because “they had serious issues”, according to the source.
The source told PEOPLE, “They’re not stupid. They remember why it didn’t work.”
A relationship would be a big jump for Pitt and Jolie, who are not in regular contact.
“Beyond an occasional text back and forth to wish each other the best when there’s been a new project or big event,” adds the source.
