Kanye West was hospitalised for exhaustion on Monday afternoon after canceling his Saint Pablo tour, WHO confirms.
The Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call at about 1:20 p.m. for a disturbance. The Los Angeles Fire Department took over when it was clear it was a only a medical emergency.
The 39-year-old has interrupted a string of his concerts with rants, walk-offs and no-shows, before officially canceling his tour on Monday.
According to NBC News, Los Angeles police responded to a medical welfare call late Monday.
His wife, Kim Kardashian-West, was scheduled to attend the Angel Ball in New York City, but did not attend. It would have marked her first public appearance since she was robbed in Paris in early October.
A representative for the father of two confirmed that remaining tickets “will be fully refunded at point of purchase.” The news follows the cancellation of his Sunday show at the Los Angeles Forum just hours before it was scheduled to begin.
While rumours swirl about the state of his mental health, a source close to West deny that he’s in the midst of any sort of breakdown.
“It’s nothing like that,” the source tells WHO. “He’s just exhausted. He’s been working around the clock on fashion design, both on his own line and the Adidas line.
“He’s a notorious workaholic, so balancing both that work – which is extremely important to him – and the rigours of the tour every night, it really wore him out.”
