The 38-year-old – who is set to make her debut as a judge on House Rules later this year – spoke to The Kyle and Jackie O Show this morning and revealed some interesting details about the shock split.
Despite the fact the couple – who were married for seven years – have decided to split, Kyly said she wouldn’t be changing her surname back to her maiden name, Boldy, stating that it was ‘important’ for her to share the same surname as her four-year-old daughter, Kelsey Lee.
Radio host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson said she understood Kyly’s thinking, because she had made the same decision when she separated from her ex-husband Lee in 2018
‘That’s the surname of your daughter, and I’m the same. I want to keep the same surname as well for that very reason,’ she said.
Kyly responded: ‘Absolutely… I think it’s funny how sometimes you make such a fuss in the beginning about changing names or not changing names. But yeah, I think it’s very important that our last names are the same and I love that.’
Despite the split – the couple announced their separation in February; however they are believed to have split months before – Kyly says they are on good terms and their main priority is co-parenting their daughter.
‘Kelsey Lee is our priority, so we’re just doing everything that is in her best interest. Her happiness is paramount,’ the former model confirmed.
Since the couple’s split, Michael has been linked to Australian activewear designer Pip Edwards.
