If you aren’t up to speed… Adam + Janelle = married. Claire + Jesse = married. Jesse claimed there was something happening between Adam and Claire – they denied it, and everyone moved on.

The end.

Or so we thought.

Claire (finally) tells Jesse

Things were finally back on track for Claire and Jesse until she revealed that she did in fact kiss Adam.

“I have broken your trust,” she told a shocked Jesse. “That night when we all went out and Adam and I went outside we kissed.”

“That is classic…I knew it, laughed Jesse, before calling Adam a “snake.”

“Thirty minutes chatting with a guy… I’m not sure what type of kiss you had, but I’m sure it’s more than what we had in three weeks,” he told a teary Claire.

“I thought you were bringing me out here to call it off, to break up with me. I couldn’t have imagined something worse than that – and it’s worse than that.”

Jesse confronts Adam

The following day Jesse confronted Adam, and no surprise, it doesn’t go well.

“I think you better come with me bro,” Jesse told Adam, before asking Adam to tell him the truth.

But Adam resisted, telling him he wanted to leave and not admitting any fault.

Finally, after Jesse reveals what Claire told him, Adam admits to the kiss – but without any remorse.

“There is no ownership,” declares Jesse, as Adam seemingly shifts the blame to Claire.

“It was one stupid little drunken kiss,” argued Adam. “I feel like I’m the one copping all the heat.”

Finally, Claire joined the conversation, apologising to Jesse. “I need to take accountability for my actions, I can’t blame it on being drunk – I knew what I was doing.”

Despite her remorse, Jesse refused to have a conversation with Claire.

Adam begrudgingly tells Janelle

Whilst Claire has taken the apologetic, remorseful route with Jesse, Adam takes a more direct approach.

“On that night we were all smashed…me and Claire had a little kiss,” he told Janelle abruptly, before swiftly moving into excuses.

“We were blind, we were smashed, we were having a little vape…we were vibing,” revealed Adam as he explained why the kiss happened.

He then explained to a shocked Janelle that their argument the night of the kiss was also a catalyst for his behaviour.

“He’s not remorseful at all, he doesn’t care about me, he doesn’t care about Jesse. He’s just sorry he got caught,” explained Janelle.

The Dinner Party

Janelle went into the dinner party with anger, determination and a group of contestants ready to rally around her. And it was clear from the beginning that tensions were high.

Whilst again, the group were offered a sincere apology from Claire, Adam took to adding more excuses when trying to explain his actions.

The group were shocked at Adam’s admission that the night he kissed Claire he was intimate with Janelle – whilst still using the excuse that their relationship wasn’t in a good place at the time.

“I don’t want to talk to Adam, I don’t want to see him, I do not want to hear his point of view and I’m f*****g done and I miss my family and I want to go home,” Janelle explained.

Whilst Adam was determined to not take the blame, Claire took a different route which led to wildly different endings.

Although still heartbroken, Jesse admired Claire’s ability to turn up and face the music. Revealing that he was “impressed with her owning her mistakes,” it was Claire’s heartfelt apology that saw their relationship improve slightly.

“That’s actually the best apology I’ve received” shared Jesse, before he and Claire snuck out of the dinner party together.

The Commitment Ceremony

Following the drama of the last week, the commitment ceremony saw the cheating scandal blow up for good, with one couple choosing to exit the experiment.

For Adam, the commitment ceremony was full of hard truths, as the experts berated his lack of accountability.

“Don’t insult our intelligence,” the experts told Adam following his insistence that he was just a “flirty guy” and that the kiss wasn’t premeditated, just due to a “vibe” between himself and Claire.

“The cheating was one thing but it was all the actions that followed that made it worse. It was the lack of accountability, the lack of apology that felt so shocking,” shared Janelle.

Both Adam and Janelle ultimately chose to leave the experiment, with Adam giving one final apology before leaving the room.

And in telling scenes, not one contestant chose to follow him, instead comforting Janelle.

For Jesse and Claire, similar scenes played out during the commitment ceremony, with the judges asking hard questions about the situation and where their relationship now stood. But it was clear to many that Claire was remorseful for her actions, sharing a more empathetic and genuine reaction than Adam ever did.

Although Jesse appreciated Claire’s efforts to redeem herself, he still chose to leave the experiment.

But for Claire, she chose to stay, “to earn back Jessie’s trust and forgiveness,” however, she did admit that she didn’t want Jessie “to feel like he has to stay if he doesn’t want to.”

Claire’s choice to stay wasn’t received too well by Jessie, who admitted he felt “grumpy,” following the news.

“I’m exhausted,” he said. “She might have some more gas in the tank and that’s great, it’s honourable, but I don’t have the same steam.”
