Meghan Markle will break royal protocol by giving a speech at her wedding on May 19.
According to The Sunday Times, the American actress will make the unprecedented move at the reception after she says “I do” with Prince Harry at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
Markle’s toast will be an “affectionate” tribute to new husband and will also be her way of saying thank you to Queen Elizabeth, who is hosting the gathering.
Despite the fact that the 36-year-old will be speaking in front of a crowd with many royals, she will be well prepared.
Markle starred in popular TV show Suits for seven years, and gave a powerful speech at the U.N. Women’s conference in 2015.
Traditionally the bride’s father would make a toast at his daughter’s wedding, but a source confirmed to the Times that Markle wants to speak for herself.
It is also not known whether her dad, Thomas Markle, will walk her down the aisle.
