Meghan Markle’s makeup artist Daniel Martin has revealed he only discovered she was dating Prince Harry after seeing her ‘face on the front of a newspaper’.
The US-based makeup artist ended up creating the Duchess of Sussex’s matural makeup look for her wedding last year, however he only discovered his client was dating British royalty whilst on holiday in Greece with his husband.
‘One day I looked up and she was dating a Prince!’ Seattle-born Daniel told beauty website Into The Gloss. ‘I was in Greece at the time, and my husband was like, “Your friend is on the paper.”
‘She was literally on the front page of every newspaper in Greece, but everything was in Greek, so I was like, “What is going on?” I didn’t know!’
Daniel and Meghan first met almost a decade ago when Suits first started, with the makeup guru revealing they had an ‘instant connection.’
‘I knew what she wanted—it was one of those things where, she looked at herself in the mirror and was like, “Oh my God, this is what I always wanted, but I didn’t know how to get there,” he told the publication.
Earlier this month Daniel also revealed to Grazia magazine: ‘Meghan “makes me go on YouTube to learn about things.” She’ll be like, “Oh I follow this person and they did it this way” – and I’m like, “Oh OK”.’
