Henry and Anna, truffle farmer siblings, TAS
Henry, 26, with sister Anna, 24, is back by popular demand after his brief appearance in MKR 2017 sent social media alight. But this year they went to show off their truffles.
“We really want to showcase our love of truffles and how proud we are of what mum and dad have created,” Anna says.
Pat and Louisa, Mother-daughter duo, NSW
Receptionist Pat, 61 and school teacher Louisa, 31, will bring their love of fresh flavours to the competition. “Winning My Kitchen Rules would be the pinnacle, the top, the highest point of my life,” Pat says.
Olga and Valeria, cooking comrades, NSW
Business consultant Olga, 33, and freelance photographer Valeria, 26, are on a determined to put the food of their Russian motherland on the map, but have no plans on making friends. “If it happens I don’t mind, however our primary goal is to win the competition so the other teams better watch out,” Olga confesses.
Georgie and Alicia, confident siblings, NSW
Growing up in their parents Chinese restaurant, sisters Georgie, 25, and Alicia, 30, plan to introduce their modern take on Asian cuisine.
Davide and Marco, lifelong mates, WA
childhood friends Davide, 36, and Marco, 31, want to bring classic Italian cooking to the table. “People are always trying to reinvent Italian food,” says Davide, a computer systems engineer. “You don’t need to reinvent the classics.”
Sonya and Hadil, best friends, NSW
Jordanian friends from Sydney, Sonya, 34, Hadil, 30, want to do Middle Eastern food justice this year. “Arabic food isn’t all about hummus and tabbouleh,” Sonya explains. “It’s about spice with lots of flavour and colour and that’s what we’re going to deliver.”
Matt and Aly, defence force foodies, QLD
Coming from a military background, Matt, 26, and Aly, 25 are confident they have what it takes to remain calm under pressure and serve up healthy, fresh dishes.
Dan and Gemma, in-laws, SA
Dan, 27, has been with Gemma’s, 38, sister for eight years, but will their fiery nature cause issues in the family kitchen? “Gemma and I argue a lot,” Dan confesses. “If we don’t like the way we’re doing something we’ll let each other know how we feel.”
