Hearts broke around the world when Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban announced their divorce after nearly 20 years of marriage. For the first time, the Oscar winner has shared a personal update about her life and how her family have helped her through such a big life change.
What did Nicole Kidman say about her divorce?
“Last year, I was quiet. I had other things going on. I was in my shell,” Nicole told Variety.
“I’m always going to be moving toward what’s good. What I’m grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward. That’s that. Everything else I don’t discuss out of respect,” she added.
The actress then explained how her priorities lie with the daughters she shares with Keith; Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15.
“I’m staying in a place of, ‘We are a family,’ and that’s what we’ll continue to be. My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women.”

News that Nicole and Keith were separating was first reported by TMZ, the morning of September 30, 2025 (AEST) with Nicole citing “irreconcilable differences” for the reason.
The documents also showed that Nicole was seeking to be the “primary residential parent” of Sunday and Faith.
Multiple sources told the publications that the couple had been living apart “since the beginning of summer”, meaning June that year.
