Why everyone needs to stop saying Jennifer Aniston needs to get back together with Brad Pitt

Because it's 1998 called and it wants it's look back.

Not even 48 hours after Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux confirmed their split, our Instagram feeds have been filled with memes in support of a Brad Pitt and Aniston reunion.

Sure, if this was a movie I’d crunch away at my popcorn and happily clutch onto my heart in awe of their former cuteness – but the reality is, it’s NOT. Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt broke-up in 2005 and 7 months later her went on to date his Mr & Mrs Smith co-star Angelina Jolie, 42. They’ve since had 6 children.

But nostalgia aside, can we for one moment just consider Jen our girlfriend who has just announced the separation between herself and husband of two years?

Would we be so quick to say, SURE, get back with your ex-husband, the same one who quickly moved on from you to start a life with Jolie (She’s an active humanitarian and total babe, but always #TeamJen)?

To break it down, like most people, 54-year-old Pitt is not the same man he was between 1998-2005. Nor would Jen be the same woman she was between those years.

And while people are manifesting this recoupling, US weekly has promptly reported that Pitt has not reached out to newly single Aniston, 49.

“Brad is, of course, sad to hear the news about Jen’s divorce. He only wishes the best for her,” the source tells Us. “However, Brad hasn’t reached out to Jen, and has no plans to do so at this point.”

Plus as multiple reports suggested and Pitt actually admitted in a previous interview GQ Style, the Troy star has been focussing on his struggles with alcohol.

“I can’t remember a day since I got out of college when I wasn’t boozing or had a spliff, or something. Something,” he told the men’s magazine, adding that although he had quit drugs when he started a family, around the time Jolie filed for divorce in September 2016, “I was boozing too much. It’s just become a problem.”

Yes, Pitt has come clean about his issues and on a steady road at the moment, but after a raw separation, we’d suggest Jen just takes this time to enjoy to herself or surrounded by her girlfriends. Like the ones who her celebrate her most recent birthday this month.

Who knows, things might change – but right now, back off with the reunion chitchat and give the woman some space. Unless of course, it’s a Friends reunion.
