Osher Gunsberg has hit back at fans after they ridiculed his embarrassing mistake on Tuesday night’s episode of The Masked Singer.
The moment Deni Hines is unmasked as the Unicorn
As the TV star took to the stage to interview Deni Hines – who had just unveiled herself as the celeb behind the Unicorn costume – Osher committed an awkward faux pas.
When Deni revealed she had written a song for Beyonce, Osher quipped: “You are the only Australian to have written a song for Beyonce!”
While it’s true that the singer wrote the dance track ‘Bienvenue’ by IAM featuring Beyonce, released in 2003, the singer is not the only Australian to have written for the star – both Sia and Luke Steele have penned songs for the American singer.
However, Osher has blamed his blunder on being “caught up in the moment.”
The Bachelor host took to Twitter to apologise.
‘… My apologies, I was caught up in the moment, my apologies to Sia,’ he wrote to one fan.
The 45-year-old also replied music journalist Cameron Adams who referenced Luke Steele from Empire of the Sun’s writing work.
‘Far out I got it REALLY wrong. Thanks for the pickup Cam! Sorry Luke,’ he said.
It’s okay Osh, you’re forgiven!
