It’s been eight months since she walked down the aisle at Windsor Castle, but Princess Eugenie has only just been given a new name following her marriage to Jack Brooksbank.
Relive Princess Eugenie’s fairy tale wedding day below:
The 29-year-old has taken on her husband’s name – but she’s doing it rather differently.
The Court Circular – a public diary that records details of all engagements undertaken by the Royals – revealed that rather than referring to herself as Eugenie Brooksbank, the princess has assumed the moniker “Princess Eugenie, Mrs. Jack Brooksbank.”
In the past, Eugenie has either been referred to as Princess Eugenie or Princess Eugenie of York – in reference to her father, Prince Andrew, the Duke of York.
As is tradition, the Queen grants royal’s titles on their wedding day. For example, Prince Harry was given a dukedom upon his wedding to Meghan Markle and is now referred to as the Duke of Sussex.
However, Jack did not receive a royal title and is simply referred to as Mr Brooksbank.
