What you didn't see on camera!

Two episodes into The Bachelor for 2018 and Nick Cummins has had to dodge a kiss from a very confident bachelorette, Romy.

Although Romy was on a mission, trying multiple times to lock lips, it appeared Nick brushed off her advances in the episode.

When she returned to the Bachie mansion, however, Romy proudly told the girls that her and Nick shared a ‘real’ kiss, upsetting most of her fellow bachelorettes.

Here, Romy shares her side of the story and explains what you DIDN’T see on camera.

The kiss with Nick has caused a bit of backlash…

It was hard for me to watch because it’s not how it went down, so to have that backlash was sort of a bit confronting, especially because there’s lots of social media hate. Which is expected on a reality show, I understand that. There was eight hours on that date and it was condensed into ten minutes of television. A lot was left out, there’s a lot that the audience didn’t see. I understand how it looked on television, I understand it looked forceful and awful, but I also understand the importance of consent and that’s not how I roll.

Why did you tell the girls he was really into it?

That’s because we did have a kiss, but it wasn’t shown.

Is Cass really a stage-5 clinger?

I think Cass is a 23-year-old girl that’s completely head-over-heels in love. Put her in an environment with 20 beautiful girls, and it’s just a recipe for disaster. I wouldn’t say she’s a stage 5 clinger, I just think she’s a little bit young to be in that environment and have such intense feelings.

You’ve been spotted on Home and Away in the past, are you an actress?

I’ve done a few TV shows; I had a guest role on Home And Away last year. It’s something that I’ve worked really hard for. It was no secret going into The Bachelor. I was upfront with Nick, also his sister Bernadette I told straight away. It’s definitely something I love and it’s my passion, but it’s also inconsistent. As for me going on the show, I mean I’m not stupid, I know this helps boost people’s profiles. It comes with doing a show like the Bachelor, but there are also disadvantages. I knew going in that would probably come up, but at the same time, hand on my heart, I’m 29 and single and was ready to fall in love.

Did you go onto the show as a paid actress?

No, no I didn’t. Absolutely not.

What do you think about those rumours?

I guess that’s expected, considering I come from an acting background. Of course, people will think of that… and because I’m causing such a stir it might be the case. Which is funny because I made an effort to be subtle and fly under the radar.

Is there anything you wish was televised that has been cut out?

I wish that our date was televised correctly and gave a true portrayal of the nice time that we had. We had such a nice time together. It’s said they didn’t play the conversations, what went down… I wish that was aired properly.
