In a first look at the 2022 ‘Tree Change’ season, fans were treated to sprawling shots of country Victoria, where the new cast will be tasked with renovating 500 square-metre houses on 10 acre pieces of land.
Talk about a huge undertaking!

Not only will the homes be bigger and better than ever, they come with a number of never-before-seen Block additions like wineries and tennis courts.
And with $100,000 in prize money (on top of any profit they make on auction day) on the line, the teams are going to have to work harder than ever to impress the judges.
The Block host Scott Cam is back for his 16th season, joined by longtime favourite judges Shaynna Blaze, Neale Whitaker and Darren Palmer, and of course charming team mentor Shelly Craft.
Speaking about the new season, Scott told Nine: “When I arrived on site for the first time, I thought to myself we had done a lot of big Blocks in the past but nothing like this – it’s massive.

“We are building our own little town, and at times that’s daunting. But we have a terrific bunch of contestants who give it a red-hot crack.”
In fact, he’ll be giving it a “red-hot crack” too as he renovates a house at the same time as the teams in a massive Block first.
Speaking of the teams, let’s meet them. This season’s cast includes five pairs: Tom and Sarah-Jane, Joel and Elle, Ankur and Sharon, Dylan and Jenny and Omar and Oz.
But one set of renovators won’t make it far in the show, as we already know they pulled out just a few days into filming.
It was revealed earlier this year that local influencers Elle Ferguson and Joel Patfull shockingly quit the show during the first week following a family emergency.
“Wherever you are in the world. Whatever you are doing. Family always comes first,” she posted to her Instagram stories from Melbourne airport.
It looks like their exit will be the main source of some of the early drama this season, with Scott asking in the trailer: “Why would you leave after two days?”
He also promises this season will be the “best Block yet, by a country mile”.
We can’t wait to see how it all plays out when the show premieres in the coming weeks – though we’re still waiting on an official date.
