They’re putting their love to the ultimate test on Channel Seven’s The Super Switch (cousin to Seven Year Switch) to see if they can resolve their differences.

But 28-year-old Christie reveals the experiment took an emotional toll while trying to save her relationship with boyfriend Ben, 35.

WATCH THEIR CRACKS APPEAR IN THE FIRST LOOK OF AUSTRALIA’S NEW FAVOURITE SHOW: THE SUPER SWITCH.

“I had a couple of breakdowns, but not
to the point where I was like, ‘I want to leave and I want to go home’,” the reality tv show star tells WHO.

“But I knew that I was going to see Ben in
a few weeks so I just took the experience for what it was.”

The duo swap partners with engaged Canadian couple Tyler and Olga
for the duration of the reality show experiment.

While living together, both parties agreed on allowing their respective partners to sleep
in the same beds, which caused a heated discussion at the dinner table, resulting in Christie walking out.

“At the end of the night I really just spoke to Tyler about it and got reassurance from him,” she says.

“I think [Lachlan and Neesha] were just having
an attack because they have a belief in something and ‘we were wrong and they were right’.”

But despite sharing a bed and initially finding Tyler attractive, Christie concedes there were definitely no “accidental spoons” or waking up in the middle of the night thinking she was in bed with Ben.

“It was such a whirlwind that you knew exactly where you were at all times and it was like, ‘My life is on hold to do this.’ ”

And even though Ben Lyall (who was on Georgia Love’s season of The Bachelorette) mentions
Christie’s sexy lingerie on the show,
she’s adamant she left it at home.

“He
was completely kidding! I took the most
daggiest pyjamas,” Christie laughs. “I knew that I was essentially going to be sharing
a bed with another guy and I just took my daggy long johns.”

Speaking of the switch couples situation: She wouldn’t go for someone like Tyler in the real world, Christie says
she did have concerns about Ben being partnered up with Olga (who hails from Canada), given he has a history of cheating in a previous relationship.

“Once Tyler explained to
me what she looked like I definitely had thoughts in my head of, ‘Ben, you better
keep your hands to yourself!’ but at the
same time I knew he was here for us and
he’s committed to me and he’s here to make this work,” Christie reveals.

“You’re in two mind-frames of being scared they might do something but knowing that they won’t.”

She adds, “Either way, whether he did
or didn’t have a history of cheating,
it would still have been the same feeling for myself.”

Downtime on the show gave Christie a chance to reflect on her relationship with Ben – the good and the bad.

“[In our relationship] He is a ball of energy, so positive and full of life and loves everything,” the Channel 7 star says, adding, “I was definitely attracted to him [at first] but I gave him a bit of a hard time because he was begging me to go on a date and I didn’t go for it until about three weeks later.
I think he was just a very overwhelming person!”

But over time, Christie fell in love with Ben’s quirkiness and now it’s his never-ending partying she has an issue with.

“I do see it as problematic because it doesn’t paint a good picture for me in the long run,” she says. “I’m ready
to start thinking about moving in together and engagement, and he’s living like he’s still 18.”

The Super Switch airs Tues. and Wed., 7.30pm on Channel Seven
