Fiery Canadian Olga met her fiancé, Tyler, on a night out on the town in her homeland.
After a few exchanges, the two had a whirlwind romance and decided to move in together and head Down Under to the Gold Coast within six months of dating.
Six years later, the couple are struggling and have turned to Super Switch relationship rehab.
Check out their dramatic debut in the video below!
“Tyler and I have been together for a really long time, so I figured maybe going on the show is going to give us that time apart. The longest we’ve been apart has been like one week,” she tells WHO.
“I figured we would have a few weeks with no phones – he’s actually going to miss me,” she adds.
However, it’s not long before the vivacious blonde, 27, admits she had her doubts about their experience on the show. “At first, I thought it was a good idea and then I thought, ‘S–t, I’m jealous.’ What if he says, ‘I’m spending time with another girl.’ ”
Tyler, 28 – who runs a digital marketing business – usually puts his career first, which has made Olga feel left out and triggered her homesickness. “I just want him to see there are other people, but they won’t take care of you as much as I do. I want him to appreciate me and, you know, spend some quality time after the show – to realise I do a lot for him, and he’d say, ‘Maybe I should cut down my work and spend my weekend with you.’ ”
While she loves spending time with her fiancé, Olga concedes she’s worried about their impending marriage because of her sour relationship with his loved ones.
“I love his mum, her husband and his grandma, who lives in South Africa, absolutely love them, but the other side of the family, I don’t get along with them, no… They’re not my cup of tea,” she says.
“I’ve had to spend two Christmases in Australia by myself because he’d just go and see them. I don’t want to be around them, we don’t see eye to eye – I don’t like how they treat Tyler, I don’t like how they communicate. I’m overprotective of the people I love, so when I see that they’re being mistreated – even if it’s by their own family – that really affects me and I don’t want to be associated with that.
