The twins – whose new reality show The Veronicas: Blood Is For Life aired on Sunday on MTV spoke to The Sun-Herald about the incident this weekend. In the article, singing sisters Lisa and Jess Origliasso say they believe their characters and The Veronicas brand has been ‘assassinated” following the high-profile incident.

“We deserve to be absolved of any responsibility to do with this,” Jess said

“Our characters and our brand have been assassinated in the media over this.”

While the sisters confirm that they filmed the incident – which saw them get into a verbal altercation with airplane staff over their baggage before being escorted of the Brisbane-bound flight by police officers – they have as yet chosen not to make the footage public.

‘Right now we’re still protecting Qantas’ version of this by not releasing it. What have we got to lose at this point? Nothing,’ Jess said.

At the time of the incident, Qantas stated that two passengers refused to follow the cabin crew’s instructions and were “offloaded” before the plane took off, with a fellow passenger telling Queensland’s Courier Mail that the singers “refused to follow crew instructions”.
However Jess and Lisa vehemently denied the allegations.

Replying to an Instagram post about the incident, the girls wrote, “We actually already had our bag up in the overhead. The female flight attendant wanted Lisa’s bag spun around. Lisa asked the attendant if she could help assist her, because she couldn’t reach it (we’re only 5″1). The attendant said it was against company policy. And a lovely man behind us helped instead.”

The girls continued: “Then right before take off, the flight attendant bought over the manager and pointed us out. He proceeded to lecture us about company policy. We listened and asked for their names, and they refused to give us their names and announced they were going to call security on us. We had no idea why. That’s when we started filming.”
