Names including Alexa, Stan and Ollie are losing their popularity due to their over use in the modern world.

Parents are ditching the name ‘Alexa’ because it’s the same name as Amazon’s new virtual assistant, according to new research from UK parenting site ChannelMum.com.

Other names dropping in popularity are ‘Stan’, which is a term used online for a stalker-fan and ‘Ollie’ because of an odd internet trend where humans eat the dog food called ‘Ollie’.

There are also boys’ names being shunned by new parents because of certain high-profile celebrities.

According to the research, ‘Harve’y is losing popularity because of the Harvey Weinstein scandal as in ‘Christian’ because of the 50 Shades franchise.

And the same goes for girls’ names. ‘Kate’ is losing popularity due to Caitlyn Jenner’s reality show I Am Cait and the decline of Kate Middleton’s popularity in favour for Meghan Markle.
