SPOILER ALERT! This Is Us just explained more about how Jack dies, and you’ll need tissues ASAP.
In an episode just aired in the US titled “That’ll Be the Day”, the series just gave another major clue about how Jack’s (Milo Ventimiglia) death plays out.
The final scenes Jack is seen cleaning slow-cooker in the kitchen, gifted to Jack and Rebecca (Mandy Moore) by their elderly neighbours, before it lights on fire.
The flames begin to quickly spread throughout the kitchen and the rest of the house.
This is obviously bad news for the Pearson family, made worse by the fact that in the previous episode, it was revealed that the fire alarm wasn’t working (uh oh!).

The teaser for the following episode shows Jack fighting to protect his family from the engulfing flames.
This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman took to Twitter to console fans about Jack’s terrifying last day on earth.
“I know. It’s a lot (but you wanted to know!), he said. “We have the world’s best fans. Thank you guys for caring. I’m sorry if you’re crying. I blame @MiloVentimiglia for being so spectacular. #ThisIsUs“
