News broke last week that Married At First Sight’s Tracey Jewell was moving away from her daughter to be with new boyfriend Sean Thomsen.
Now, the reality TV bride has hit back at those shaming her for making the move from Perth to Melbourne for love.
“The level of vitriol against me was shocking,” she wrote on news.com.au. “Everyone just thinks I’m abandoning my child, and it’s absolutely not the case. I wasn’t going to answer the trolls but this attack hasn’t been fair to myself, my daughter, or her dad. So I’m here to set the record straight.”
Jewell, whose daughter was three when she separated from her ex, explained that she currently sees Grace once a week and more often in the school holidays.
“Because she spends a majority of her time with her dad and step family, I’ve always been really conscious to bring her into my life so she can see what I’m doing when I’m not with her,” she wrote.
The MAFS contestants also revealed her plans for seeing Grace when her and Sean move to Melbourne in June or July this year, explaining that she will fly to Perth “on lots of weekends” whilst Grace will fly over in the school holidays.
Jewell insists that her parenting situation isn’t hurting her daughter.
“Right now, moving to Melbourne is the plan that will work for our family. But that doesn’t mean it’s set in stone forever.”
