Sam and Phoebe Burgess confirmed they had officially split back in October, and it looks as though the retired NRL star has well and truly moved on, after a 27-year-old American waitress claimed over the weekend that she and Sam have begun dating.

Oak Schuetz, originally from Seattle but now living in Sydney’s affluent Eastern Suburbs revealed to The Daily Telegraph that she had spent the weekend at Sam’s Coogee penthouse. The pair were also spotted looking cosy outside Oak’s home on Sunday morning.
Oak told the publication that she and Sam are “dating for sure” just four days after they first met at Sydney’s Establishment bar in the CBD, and that she’s had “no idea” who the sports star was when he first approached her.
“I know he’s getting divorced and going through a tough time but, like my motto goes, ‘’why not?’’,” she explained, before revealing that Sam had requested that the pair leave the Establishment bar separately, before heading back to his place.
‘We hit it off and he said we should leave to go back to his, but separately, he didn’t want people to see us leave together. His apartment is lovely and so is he,’ she said.
Ms Schuetz said after she learned he was famous, she searched the mother of his two children online.
‘I googled his wife Phoebe, she’s so pretty. Prettier than me… I’m just going to go for it and see what happens,’ she said.
In October shortly after Sam and Phoebe’s separation announcement – the pair first split in 2018, before reuniting this year, only to split for a second time – Sam was charged with intimidation after an alleged row with Phoebe’s father, Mitchell Hooke, according to The Daily Telegraph.
Sam was issued with a temporary apprehended violence order on Saturday, October 19, after a clash with Mitchell in Bowral.
The British sportsman is thought to have been visiting his children, two-year-old Poppy and 10-month-old Billy, who are believed to have relocated to Bowral with their mother Phoebe after their split.
Mitchell reportedly asked Sam to leave the family’s three-hectare Glenquarry farm – which Sam did – but police were called about 4 pm.
Last month, leaked footage showed Sam partying on a yacht in Cabo, Mexico, with a bikini-clad woman on his shoulders – despite the shoulder injury which forced him into early retirement. He was there to celebrate the 50th birthday of NRL star Sean Garlick with his brother and fellow rugby player, Luke Burgess.
