Kate Middleton rarely puts a foot wrong when it comes to royal etiquette.
But in a newly surfaced video from the Order of the Garter ceremony earlier this week, the mum-of-three was given a scolding by her mother-in-law, Camilla Parker Bowles for chit-chatting when she should have been watching the ceremony.
Watch Kate Middleton get a stern telling off from Camilla:
The footage appears to show the Duchess of Cambridge happily chatting to Queen Maxima of the Netherlands before the Duchess of Cornwall sternly tells them to turn around and pay attention.
Not deterred by Queen Maxima’s regal status, at one point 70-year-old Camilla even firmly taps the Argentinian-born Queen on the arm to get her attention.
While Kate dutifully listened to her mother-in-law, we’re betting she felt just as naughty as one of her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis!
However, Kate and Queen Maxima soon forgot the incident, as they were joined by Sophie, Countess of Wessex and Queen Letizia of Spain to support their husbands in the parade.
King Felipe VI of Spain and King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands were officially invested Knights of the Garter by her Majesty, the Queen, whilst Prince Charles and Prince William also took part in the ceremony – which was founded by Edward III in 1348 as a way of acknowledging contributions to public service.
And if Kate was feeling a bit silly for being told off, she didn’t worry as she’s in good company.
Last week footage emerged of Prince Harry appearing to tell off Meghan Markle for not paying attention at Trooping the Colour!
