Video footage has been released from a policeman’s body camera of the moment a newborn baby was discovered abandoned in a shopping bag in woodland.
The crying baby girl still had her umbilical cord attached when authorities in Georgia, United States, made the discovery.
The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post that the department is currently seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the newborn.

“On June 6, 2019 at approximately 10:08 PM, Deputies were called out to the 1900 block of Daves Creek Road in reference to what the caller described as a baby crying,” the post began.
“Shortly after deputies arrived on scene they located a white, newborn, female baby that had been left in a wooded area. Sheriff’s Office investigators are asking the public’s assistance in locating the infant’s mother.”
In the video footage, a policeman can be heard saying upon discovering the baby: ‘Look how precious you are,’ before the newborn is swiftly wrapped up in a warm blanket.
