What is Percy Jackson and the Olympians about?
Based on the original book series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians follows Percy, the demi-god son of Posideon, as he navigates the treacherous world of gods and monsters.
Joined by his two friends, Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood, at Camp Half-Blood, Percy embarks on quests to prevent catastrophic wars between the gods, with the trio journeying across the country to return Zeus' lightning bolt.
Who is cast in Percy Jackson and The Olympians?
Walker Scobell takes on the lead as Percy Jackson in the new series, alongside Aryan Simhadri as Grover and Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth.
Other cast members include Jason Mantzoukas as Dionysus, the god of wine who runs Camp Half-Blood, and Glynn Turman as Chiron, the centaur in charge of the camp.
Virginia Kull takes on the role of Percy’s mother, Sally Jackson, and Toby Stephens stars as Poseidon, Percy’s father and the god of the sea.
When will the Percy Jackson and the Olympians TV series be released?
Percy Jackson and the Olympians will premiere on Disney+ on December 20, 2023.
Following the release of the first two episodes, a new episode of the series will be released weekly on a Wednesday.
The first season is also said to consist of eight episodes, each with a runtime of 45-60 minutes.
