What is It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia about?
If you’re new to the show, then allow us to give you a quick little recap of what it’s all about – bearing in mind there are 16 seasons so we’ll keep it brief.
In essence, the show follows a group of self-centred friends known as ‘The Gang’ as they run a rather unsuccessful Irish bar called Paddy’s Pub in South Philadelphia.
Each episode features The Gang getting into absolutely absurd situations that often result in them getting into trouble or making poor decisions – as one does, naturally.
Rotten Tomatoes also calls the group a bunch of “degenerates who love nothing more than to scheme, conspire, and mostly revel in each other’s misery,” not before giving the show a score of 92%.
“Whether gaming the welfare system, exploiting dumpster babies, pretending to be crippled, impersonating officers, or faking funerals, The Gang never stoops too low in the name of making a buck.”
Who is in the cast of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia?
The show was created by Rob McElhenney, who also stars in the series as Mac, the co-owner and bodyguard of the Irish bar, Paddy’s Pub.
He stars alongside Glenn Howerton as Dennis, who is considered to be the narcissistic and selfish one of the group, and Charlie Day as Charlie, the co-owner of Paddy’s pub and the “wild card” of the gang.
Kaitlin Olson also stars as Dee, Dennis’ twin sister and waitress at the pub, and Danny DeVito as Frank, the father of Dennis and Dee in the series.
Casting doesn’t get any better than this, so watch them bring these awful characters to life now by streaming the series on Disney+.
