In a statement from the Palace on Wednesday, it was revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex , along with their sox-month-old son, Archie, will be spending Christmas with Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are looking forward to extended family time towards the end of this month. Having spent the last two Christmases at Sandringham, [the couple] will spend the holiday this year, as a new family, with the duchess’ mother, Doria,” the statement reads. “This decision is in line with precedent set previously by other members of the royal family, and has the support of Her Majesty The Queen.”
Harry and Meghan first spent Christmas with The Queen and the rest of the royal family at Sandringham House in Norfolk in December 2017. The attended once again the following year.
News of Harry and Meghan’s holiday plans follows shortly after Harry and brother Prince William were reunited at the annual Festival of Remembrance Service on November 9. It was the first time the royal brothers had been seen in public together since Harry confirmed they had grown apart in the ITV documentary last month, Harry & Meghan: An African Journey.
“Part of this role and part of this job, this family, being under the pressure that it’s under, inevitably stuff happens,” Harry explained in the doc. “But look, we’re brothers, we’ll always be brothers. We’re certainly on different paths at the moment but I’ll always be there for him and as I know he’ll always be there for me.”
