In season eight, we see a whole new side to Frank Gallagher (Vernon Francis). He's quit drinking and instead of spending his days passed out on the kitchen floor, he's found himself a job and a more meaningful life. In an attempt to right his wrongs, Frank makes it his mission to be a better person and help out the community, albeit illegally! No shock there, right?
Meanwhile, Fiona (Emmy Rossum) finds a new Irish man to gawk over and continues to build her empire, however not without stepping on a few family members toes. Debbie (Emma Kenney) takes on the persona of 'sexy welder girl' while juggling life as a single mum, Lip (Jeremy Allen White) focuses on his sobriety and moving on from his ex-girlfriend, Ian (Cameron Monaghan) builds a cult following after his fans dub him as 'Gay Jesus' which in turn lands him in jail, Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) gets cut from military school and makes it his mission to earn his way back with the help of his new (and crazy) girlfriend Cassidy, and little Liam (Christian Isaiah) enjoys the perks of going to a private school.
Then, of course, there's Kevin (Steve Howey), Veronica (Shanola Hampton) and Svetlana (Isidora Goreshter), the most unlikely thrupple. This season we see a shift in their relationship as Kevin takes on the role of the protector.
Like always, you can expect lots of laughs, tears, and madness as the storyline goes in all sorts of directions.
