After welcoming two babies within three years, Aussie mum Melanie Leach candidly admits she’s been “trying to find herself again”.
“My body has changed so much over the past three years with two back to back pregnancies,” the 22-year-old tells WHO. “I’ve bought expensive clothes just for them to not fit a couple months later.”
As a result, the content creator says her style has “completely changed” with motherhood.
“I find the stuff that looked good on me before now looks too young and not right on my body,” Melanie admits.
“I’ve really experimented with my style postpartum and tried a few different trends and looks.”
And the mum’s new go-to store might surprise you.
“Finding Shein during my postpartum stage was amazing,” Melanie says. “I’ve been able to find clothes that catered to my new body and my breastfeeding journey as a new mum. And I didn’t have to sacrifice style or affordability.
“I’ve learned that I’m able to still dress like me and how I want to dress while still feeling comfortable.”
Indeed, Melanie’s recent shopping haul from the online retailer has proved a hit on her TikTok channel @melanietherese, with one $25 ensemble singled out for particular praise.
The outfit in question? Shein’s Striped Short Sleeve Shirt and Drawstring Shorts Set, a number one bestseller for the brand.
“My favourite purchase is definitely the striped set,” Melanie tells WHO.
“Shein is so good for matching sets that are comfortable and stylish. I feel so put together whenever I wear it and have received so many compliments!
“Matching sets always make me feel so put together and are so easy,” the mum adds. “There’s no struggle to decide what to wear – it’s just so easy to throw on.”

Another Aussie TikTok creator and mum was flooded with compliments after showcasing a $25 white Casual Sleeveless Top & Skirt Set on her channel.
Also popular, was the classy-looking Minimalist Sleeveless Top And Skirt Set in black, on sale for $23.95.
Melanie, meanwhile, also rates Shein for “nice tops that you can dress up or dress down”.
She also recently purchased the $10 Aloruh gingham top, and is a huge fan.
“I can wear that with the Shein Frenchy Mini Skort in black for lunch out or simply with shorts for a more casual look at home,” she explains.
“I find Shein really good for having stuff that’s on trend but within budget.”
Melanie isn’t alone in turning to Shein for stylish outfits that don’t break the bank.
Brisbane influencer Kirsty, who boasts more than 22,000 followers on her TikTok channel @raising.the.bahr_, has also treated fans to a try-on session of a recent haul.
“I would wear this to bed and out in public, and it has pockets,” she told her followers after showcasing the Women’s Loose Fit Lantern Sleeve Striped Blouse and matching Striped Drawstring Pants.
Also on her keep list, the INAWLY Plaid Print Strapless Dress that she described as “cute”.
And women aren’t only turning to Shein for affordable fashion. Taylor Rankine, a TikTok creator and founder of US affordable jewellery brand Boardwalk Beads, shared her own list of items that are worth your money on Shein.
“Number one, their underwear,” the influencer told her 306,000 fans in a recent TikTok video. “It’s actually really, really good and it’s a great alternative if you don’t want to be spending an insane amount on underwear.”
Taylor also added bikinis and room decor to her list, which she described as “really, really good”.
Beauty tools also made it to her roundup.
“They have the best hairbands, and I know that’s kinda weird, but hairbands, hair accessories, little accessories are honestly really, really good from there.”
The entrepreneur also said she found Shein’s going out tops had been “holding out really, really well”.
“I love their going out tops,” she said. “Every time I buy an interesting or a fun top from Shein I really do like it.”
Finally, Taylor gave a shoutout to Shein’s sticky bras, saying she reorders them monthly because she genuinely “loves them so, so much”.
“That’s my top Shein item,” she declared.
