I’m not immune to a TikTok trend. If I see the girlies wearing it, chances are I want it too. So obviously, when I saw a particular style of top/dress/cardigan go viral, I knew I had to have it.
Imagine my delight when I found out it was from H&M and under $100.
It’s a long-sleeved, white lace top (although on the website it’s technically called a dress), and the girls are styling it with blue jeans and calling it a day.
There’s something about the puffed sleeves and the slightly sheer lace that makes it feel special without trying too hard — it’s the kind of piece that looks expensive but isn’t, and it photographs beautifully whether you’re dressing it up or down.
I’m obsessed. It’s simple yet so romantic and soft that I wish I’d seen it during my bridal era. It would have been the perfect get-ready look for the morning, or even for the honeymoon where I could have leaned into the drama a little more — barefoot on a balcony somewhere, lace sleeves catching the breeze, all while my husband catches it on camera. Perfect.
Even still, you don’t have to be a bride to appreciate the lace. Clearly, the masses are loving the style, because it’s sold out overseas and is still yet to arrive in Australia.
But the good news is, it’s coming. When exactly? I’m not too sure. But I’m waiting for the drop, hoping to snag one before my size sells out — because if the overseas sell-out speed is anything to go by, it won’t last long once it lands here.
In the meantime, inspired by the lace and the flowiness of it all, I decided to try and find some similar alternatives that might work for my spring wardrobe. Because let’s be honest, waiting around for a restock is not a vibe when the weather’s about to turn.
I delightfully found a few, and they’re still in stock and available in Australia.
