However, breaking the news to her mum went better than she thought.
“Mum was really supportive. With most families there could be drama, but Mum was like, ‘If I yell at her, it’s only going to make it worse.’”
Ammi, who is still with Jordan, 20 was two months away from giving birth to her little boy, Jiyah (now 17 months old), when she finished Year 11.
“I finished Year 11 when I was 30-something weeks pregnant and no-one knew,” she explains. “I went to a school and we wore free dress, but I didn’t get that big. Everyone was clueless. One day we had a baby and everyone was like, ‘What the f--k?’ We posted on Facebook and said, ‘This happened.’”

Now 18, Ammi is pregnant again with baby number two.
“I’m 25 weeks. I feel huge. I was a lot smaller with Jiyah,” she says. “This one also wasn’t planned. I’m just sick of being pregnant now. I’m like, ‘Get out of me!’ I was breastfeeding up until a month ago. He’ll wake up and be like, ‘Milk?’ and I’ll be like, ‘Absolutely not!’ It drains me being pregnant, drains me breastfeeding and I’ve got no energy for myself.”
Teen Mom Australia premieres Sunday July 7, 6pm on MTV.
