Irish actress Saoirse (Mary Queen of Scots, Little Women) and Scottish actor Jack (Slow Horses) have welcomed their first child together.
The two were seen pushing a baby pram together while going on a walk in London, according to photos published by The Sun.
In June 2025, we saw the Ladybird star with a baby bump in photos obtained by The Daily Mail.
The couple tied the knot at the Edinburgh Central Registrar’s Office in a low-key ceremony only attended by close family and friends in July 2024. The Irish Independent had reported, citing the Register of Scottish Civil Marriages records.
Talk about keeping it on the down-low – the wedding took place this time last year, but the news took a while to turn public with wedding guests reportedly “sworn to secrecy.”
The pair are a notoriously private couple, and did not share any photographs to social media from their big day and over the years they’ve remained relatively tight-lipped in interviews when asked about their relationship.
But Jack did spark engagement rumours in July 2023 when he posted an Instagram picture of Saoirse’s hand sporting what looked very much like an engagement ring.
The actress was also seen wearing the ring at the Louis Vuitton spring-summer 2024 womenswear show.
Now it seems fan speculation about that ring being for their engagement was right on the money!
What have Jack Lowden and Saoirse Ronan said about each other?
Jack did give some insight into their relationship when discussing a 2024 film they co-produced, The Outrun, which stars Saoirse as a woman returning to her homeland after a long battle with alcohol and drug addiction.
“That woman is a force of nature, on and off screen, and utterly fearless and a brilliant leader as well,” Jack had gushed to iNews.
“My first love is actors. And when you’re given a Ferrari like her, it’s all about how you make everything good for the Ferrari to show off. Don’t make a Ferrari do what a Renault Clio does. When there’s someone like that, you just have to facilitate them and you will get gold.
“And My God, did we.”
He jokingly added: “Sometimes she gives a better performance than me off camera and you’re a bit like, ‘Can you, erm, not?'”
Harper’s Bazaar later asked Saoirse what she thought of her partner likening her to an expensive racing car.
“When a person you respect as much as I do him says that, it means more than anyone else’s opinion,” she said.
The actress lives a very low-key life, without Instagram or Twitter, but she does make the occasional appearance on her now-husband’s Instagram.
On July 1, 2024, he shared a romantic picture with his arms wrapped around her at Glastonbury Festival, with many fans speculating they were watching Coldplay.
“How much do I love this couple?” one follower wrote.
“This photo made my day,” wrote another.

Who is Jack Lowden?
Jack Lowden is also an actor. He was born in Essex, England, but grew up in the small rural Scottish village of Oxton.
He joined the Scottish Youth Theatre in Edinburgh when he was 10 years old and later studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow.
He’s had roles across film, theatre and TV, including Dunkirk (2018), Mary, Queen of Scots (2018) , Benediction (2022) and Slow Horses (2022).
How did Jack Lowden and Saoirse Ronan meet?
The actors met on the set of Mary, Queen of Scots, which was released in late 2018.
Saoirse played the title role (with Margot Robbie as Queen Elizabeth I) and Jack played her husband, Lord Darnley.
