There’s nothing I love more than a celebrity who isn’t afraid to take the piss out of themselves. While there’s only a select handful of them in Hollywood— Chrissy Teigen, Ryan Reynolds, John Stamos, Joe Jonas and Blake Lively, to name a few— today, the world’s biggest legend, otherwise known as Adele proved her name is worthy of being added to the list.
Eleven days after announcing she’s divorcing her husband of seven years, Simon Konecki, the Someone Like You singer said Hello to Instagram in the form of a cracking meme about her split from the entrepreneur.
“When you catch yourself in your feelings then you remember who you are,” she captioned two photos of herself— one where she’s looking like she’s on the verge of a mental breakdown and another from her Carpool Karaoke segment with James Corden.
Ahhh, I don’t even know where to begin. It hasn’t even been two weeks since she shocked the world with the news and she’s already posting memes about it. Like, honestly, name one person you know who’d make a joke out of their divorce and post it on social media? No one, absolutely no one has the balls to do that besides Adele.
She truly is that badass who knows the words to every Nicki Minaj song. She’s that woman who can turn heartbreak into a hit single in less than three minutes. She’s that legend who can give Beyonce’s Coachella performance a run for its money in one grainy boomerang posted to Instagram. She’s a queen and she’s finally realised it.
This is the kind of vibe I’m going to channel if I ever call it quits with my future husband. She’s a mood. And I bet all the money in my bank account which, mind you is like $13 dollars, that a breakup album is on the way. I’m here for it, her and her cheeky sense of humour.
