Yes! That distant sound you can hear is us gasping in delight at the prospect of Adolescence Season 2. There have been rumours that the smash-hit drama would potentially break free from its limited series format (it was only ever intended to be one season); however, its global success may just have tipped the scales in our favour.
And now, we just got more intel.
Quick recap: How did Adolescence Season 1 end?
*Spoilers!*
Avert your eyes now if you don’t want to know.
Throughout the four episodes of Season 1, viewers were taken on an investigative journey to learn whether 13-year-old Jamie Miller was responsible for the violent death of his classmate. The last scene is of Jamie calling his dad, Eddie, confirming he will plead guilty – ultimately confessing to the murder.
What has co-creator Stephen Graham said about Adolescence Season 2?
Fans of the show know that actor Stephen Graham doesn’t only star in the series as Jamie’s dad Eddie, but also is one of Adolescence’s two co-creators, alongside writer Jack Thorne.
On Sunday he won a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Limited Series or TV Movie for his performance in Adolescence, and when asked about the prospect of another season, he didn’t disappoint.
“I cannot answer that question because it’s somewhere in the deep recesses of my mind and Jack’s mind, [but] we’ll put it out in three or four years, so stay tuned.”
Okay… so we may be waiting a while. But there is now more light at the end of the tunnel.
How many Golden Globes did Adolescence win?
Did you know that Graham wasn’t the only Adolescence star to win a Golden Globe?
Owen Cooper, who plays Jamie, and Erin Doherty, who plays child psychologist Briony Ariston, also walked away with awards.
Adolescence also won a Golden Globe for Best Limited Series, Anthology Series, and a Motion Picture Made for Television.

What has director Philip Barantini said about Adolescence Season 2?
Brad Pitt is an unexpected name to pop up in this will-they won’t-they quest for Adolescence Season 2, but his production company Plan B Entertainment is reportedly in early talks with the two co-founders.
Co-presidents of Plan B Entertainment – Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner – told Deadline they had spoken with director Philip Barantini about the “next iteration” and were considering how to “widen the aperture, stay true to its DNA [and] not be repetitive. However, not much more was revealed. Ugh!

What will happen in Adolescence Season 2?
This is the big question. What will happen in Season 2? Very little is known about how another season would unfold.
Fans of the show undoubtedly want to learn what will become of Jamie, who we will likely watch in prison. However, the fallout of the confession and court case will also have an impact on all the beloved characters in the show.
There are still many unknowns, but if one thing is true, we certainly will “stay tuned” as Graham requested.
If we hear anything more, we’ll report back.
